Oi. Had a lovely day yesterday up in Ann Arbor shopping and eating with the girls. Bought some Godiva truffles. Returned all four pair of shoes I'd bought online for size and got the right ones ordered. All in all a productive fun day that had nothing to do with anything I needed to do work wise or at home. I like this idea of taking time off from the endless litany of work related stuff that has to be done yesterday.

Today the wind is howling outside, 50 mile an hour gusts, I'm doing the laundry and thinking about lesson planning. My tax preparer called to say my taxes were finished and I'm terrified what the changes in the tax code may mean for me. I thought I was going to be ok, but there's that last minute terror that I've miscalculated.

And last but not least I am once again thinking about fandom and fanfic, with tumblr now saying it will be gone by the end of 2019. I recently had a horrendous experience reading an author I trusted and liked, but I'm still a fic reader if not writer through and through even if I'm not writing anymore. So I'm looking for any BBC Sherlock recommendations for either fic or accounts to follow.

That same wind is sounding a lot like a jet ready for take off in our part of the world as well.

I've read more Sherlock fic than I can believe--what are you looking for? your DNWs?

I've read a ton of fic from a ton of writers. Depending on my mood, I'm mostly good with Johnlock. I can do long novel-length fic, chaptered fic, short fic. I love dark fic. I need good dialogue and characterization and if you go AU or off some untrod path, I need the writer to do the heavy lifting allowing me to suspend my disbelief. I've read BDSM and fluff and sick fic and death fic. I don't do Sherlock and reader fic or fic where the writer sets up a deep psychological drama and then resolves it with one 100 word speech. I've written about living through genocide and plague and sitting on a beach so I'm pretty eclectic in my tastes. Or maybe that's just the voice in my head saying that. :) But seriously, if there's a well written fic I'll probably read it. Werewolves, vampires, end of the world and all.

Wait, tumblr is officially shutting down this year?

The latest posting I saw was last week suggesting it was shutting down in late 2019. But honestly, who knows? There has been a tremendous exodus lately and the platform hasn't really fixed or addressed user issues or problems, so there's that. I just remember living through the whole LJ mess when Russians bought that platform. I can't guarantee when or if tumblr is going to go down, but I have been looking for replacement venues, which is why I ended up back here after an extended hiatus. :)

Oh, ok. It really wouldn't surprise me if it shut down this year, but I haven't seen anything like an announcement yet.
